Gender Equality and Excellence: Eurovanille's Commitment to a Sustainable Vanilla Supply Chain

Promoting Equality and Excellence Across the Vanilla Supply Chain

At Eurovanille, social responsibility is inseparable from our vision of excellence. Promoting gender equality is a core pillar of our commitment to a fairer, more sustainable, and more inclusive vanilla supply chain.

Convinced that access to education and opportunities must be equitable, we actively support local initiatives aimed at strengthening the empowerment and recognition of women within agricultural communities, particularly in Uganda and Madagascar.

Supporting Women, Key Stakeholders in the Vanilla Supply Chain

Women play an essential role in vanilla cultivation, from production to the transmission of know-how. Yet their contribution is still too often undervalued.

With this in mind, Eurovanille is proud to support, for the second consecutive year, the Best Vanilla Farmer Award during the Best Vanilla Grower Awards Uganda, an initiative that highlights the excellence, commitment, and impact of Ugandan women farmers.

Florence Nabukalu, Winner of the 2025 Best Farmer in Uganda Award

We extend our sincerest congratulations to Florence Nabukalu, elected Winner of the 2025 Best Farmer in Uganda Award, for her exemplary journey and the positive impact she generates within her community. Her commitment perfectly illustrates the ability of women to be drivers of economic, social, and environmental performance.

By celebrating achievements such as that of Florence Nabukalu, and previously that of Fridah Birekeraho, the winner of the previous edition, we aim to encourage more women to engage in agriculture and to play a leading role in the vanilla supply chain.

A Fairer, More Sustainable, and More Inspiring Vanilla Supply Chain

Through these actions, Eurovanille reaffirms its commitment to contributing to a vanilla supply chain based on:

  • equal opportunity
  • sustainable agricultural practices
  • the promotion of local talent
  • and respect for producer communities

We also commend all the award recipients recognized during this event, as well as the work of our partner Enimiro Uganda, whose commitment is essential to the development of high-impact social projects.

By supporting women in the vanilla supply chain, we invest in a more balanced, more resilient, and more meaningful future for the entire ecosystem.
