IFS Food Certification:
Eurovanille achieves Higher level (97.62%)

For the ninth consecutive year, Eurovanille has achieved the higher level of IFS Food certification, with a score of 97.62% (Higher level), following an unannounced audit conducted by Eurofins Certification on 27, 28, 29, and 30 April 2026 under the IFS Food v8 standard. This result — the highest level of the standard — confirms our command of food safety and quality, from raw material to finished product, for our customers in more than 85 countries within the relevant audit scope.

What is IFS Food certification?

An internationally recognised standard

IFS Food (International Featured Standards) is an international auditing standard for the safety and quality of food products and processes, recognised by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative).

Developed on the initiative of major European retailers, it assesses a company against more than 250 control points: quality management system, HACCP, traceability, allergen management, hygiene, and food safety culture. The audit results in a percentage score.

What does the Higher level (97.62%) mean?

IFS Food distinguishes two certification levels: Foundation (a score of 75% to 95%) and Higher (a score above 95%). With 97.62%, Eurovanille sits at the Higher level, the highest of the two.

A certificate is only issued from 75% upwards, subject to compliance with the KO (knock-out) criteria. A score above 95% demonstrates a mature food safety and quality management system. The audit is renewed every year.

Our 2026 audit was also carried out unannounced: the auditor arrives with no prior preparation, which ensures that our standards are maintained day to day.

Under the IFS Food standard, certification obtained following an unannounced audit is awarded “Star” status.

Why this certification matters to our customers

For a premium ingredients supplier, IFS Food provides three concrete guarantees.

Independent proof

An accredited third-party body verifies our processes — worth far more than a mere declaration.

Easier market access

Many retailers and buyers require IFS certification to list a supplier, particularly for private-label products.

Continuous improvement

The scoring system, renewed every year, commits us to continuous progress.

A collective achievement

An IFS score is not decided over a few days of auditing: it reflects daily, cross-functional work.
Every team contributes:

  • Management: governance, company organisation, corporate policy covering food safety, customer focus, food safety culture, and sustainable development
  • Production: good hygiene and manufacturing practices
  • Maintenance: management of premises, machinery, repairs, and new works
  • Quality: steering the quality management system and internal and external audits, handling complaints and non-conformities
  • R&D and laboratory: mastery of recipes and processes
  • Purchasing: selection and traceability of raw materials, supplier management
  • Logistics and customer service: product integrity and traceability through to the customer
  • Resource management: staff skills, training management
  • Regulatory affairs: regulatory monitoring and compliance
  • Sales: customer focus and contract agreements
  • Leadership: food safety as a strategic priority.

This shared culture is precisely what IFS calls “food safety culture”.

This renewal continues the momentum of our previous certifications.
